Spotlight: The Row

                  The Row Pre-Fall 2020

My favorite house of all time - The Row - brought its Pre-Fall collection exuding its refined tailoring, soft tones and an overall laid back sophistication that only The Row is capable of.

This brand is extremely close to my heart as I sincerely believe it is one of the few players out there that constitute the notion of true luxury. Exclusivity and discreetness seems to be highly prioritized at this brand; that only adds to its mystery and elusiveness - to me, this is the true backbone of a real luxury brand.

The Row is renowned for its quality fabrics, exquisite attention to detail, timelessness and simplicity in its purest form.

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen began their namesake label in 2005 by challenging themselves to create the perfect T-Shirt. A test was conducted on models of different ages and sizes wearing the T-shirt with the goal of finding a common style and fit amongst all. Barneys ended up purchasing their first collection in its entirety; the brand now extends to ready-to-wear, sunglasses, shoes, handbags, resort and menswear (being launched two years ago).

Initially, the Olsen twins did not give an interview about their brand for the first three years after its debut. They strongly believes in letting the garments speak for themselves, which I could not agree more with.

When taken a look at The Row's social media outlets, it seems to only add to its elusiveness. Their Instagram seems to be full of art, architecture and vintage photographs. They seem carefully curated as they resonate with the brand's identity; you will not find the classic notion of a business trying to sell its products. This strengthens the Row's quiet elegance and mystery adding to its appeal.

The Row's ready-to-wear collections focus heavily on architectural and sculptural shapes, a soft color palette and tailoring (as previously mentioned). These are a few of the classic trademarks that make up the brand's dna. It attracts women are who are elegant. sophisticated but most of all, subtle & discreet. You won't find ever find the garments screaming - sometimes, a quiet whisper is all it takes and in this case, it gets the message across eloquently.
